Math 20: CourseCompass

About CourseCompass

There is a website named CourseCompass that works with the Math 20 textbook. Included with your textbook purchase is use of this website.

It has many sample tests for you to practice with. Using them may require installing a web browser plugin named TestGen.

The CourseCompass website also has more homework to practice (called "study plan") and a bunch of multimedia stuff that includes:

  • videos of people lecturing
  • videos of people working out test problems step by step
  • the entire textbook as an e-book
  • PowerPoint slides for lectures, with more example problems
Some or all of this might already be on the CD that came with your textbook. Videos are accessible both through the "multimedia" option on the side menu and the "study plan" option. I am not sure if these lead to the same videos, or two different sets of videos.

Oddly, I cannot find any audio records on that website, although they do exist for each textbook section. Here is a webpage which is an index of all the textbook's online audio recordings.

The CourseCompass website can keep track of grades, host a discussion forum, and do online tests. But LCC already has Moodle for that.

A related website named My Math Lab is used by the same publisher, but My Math Lab is not relevant to Math 20..

These websites are built to work with Internet Explorer but not Firefox (sigh).
